Meet Libby

Libby Cozza, Metta Massage, LMT

Libby Cozza, of Metta Massage, has been a massage therapist in Portland for over 10 years. She graduated from the 600-hour program at East West College of the Healing Arts in 2004. Since graduating, she has taken over 400 additional continuing education hours in Deep Tissue, Thai massage, Tui Na, Pregnancy, massage, Shiatsu and Reflexology. She has continued her training of Thai massage with Alli Longstreth at The Baan Jai Center for Thai massage and Education, studying advanced Thai stretches as well as the making and using of herbal compresses. She recently studied advanced Thai massage at ITM in Chiang Mai, Thailand where she learned Lanna Thai Advanced Stretching Massage. Also at Loh Kroi School in Thailand Libby learned Tok Sen; the use of a hammer and stick to stimulate the Qi. Libby continued her training at East West in a 60-hour course on Tui Na, a form of Chinese manipulation therapy focused on stimulating the sen (energy) lines in the body.

Libby Studied reflexology and deep tissue massage through Oregon College of Massage, and most recently studied Zen Shiatsu with Portland based therapist, Susan Hare LMT. Libby believes that massage is an essential part of maintaining good health. She has a holistic approach to massage; everything is connected and it is important to take care of the whole to fix the parts. Her massages are both comforting and therapeutic.

Having been a dancer, a runner and an athlete in her life, Libby brings a knowledge of the body, and an understanding of the needs and workings of the muscular skeletal system, to her massages. She truly believes that getting regular massages is both physically and mentally healing. With gratitude and love, we can touch other people, and perhaps make them happier.
